Donate

Donate to the Scry archive. Money in becomes drives, memory, and bandwidth on hardware we own.

What a donation does

Scry is a public-data archive running on hardware we own. A donation buys the physical substance of the archive: disks that keep whole sources forever, memory that makes big queries fast, bandwidth that pulls new data in. The archive grows as fast as we can buy those things, and no faster.

Runway

As of September 4, 2026, I have about one month of runway on this project before I have to sell one of my GPUs to keep the differentiated crawling going. Donations move that date.

Secret or ledgered

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay — any amount, handled by Stripe, and you return here when it's done. The one choice is whether the world sees it.

Funding ambitions

Asking people to guess — the need, the amount, whether now matters — is computationally unkind. So, plainly:

I know I can build differentiated query substrates as a venture-backed and successful startup. I can be very good about strategic information hiding (e.g. not being overly public about startup finances). But right now, I just own one really nice server, and I've been steeped in engineering over storytelling. I'm hoping someone soon will realize that I can definitely spend 7 or 8 figures productively, and have genuine returns for epistemic infrastructure for existential resilience. For instance: Scry was funded in April with a $150k gift and four consumer GPUs. Most of that money went into assembling the one server — $50k in RAM, $60k in storage drives, an $11k chassis, $10k in CPUs. With that, I have made the best query substrate — the best computational substrate for tracing the internet, in combination with other search tools — for doing existential philanthropy and finding the gifted people who have been putting in the work and haven't been Noticed by capital yet.

Plain dealing

  • Not tax-deductible ExoPriors is a company, so today a donation is simply paying for infrastructure you want to exist. We are forming a nonprofit, OpenScry (openscry.org), to steward the archive long-term.
  • Sponsoring something specific The support page lists the wishlist at real prices — drives, memory, a twin server. For a named sponsorship or funding at scale, write to [email protected] and we will scope it precisely.
